BEST music class EVER. It's about the kids, not about the teacher's ego or the parents skill.

We were in the car the other day, the kids were wild, fighting and screaming in the back. I dug out one of our MMM CD's and put in and cranked it up full blast. Instantly both kids got quiet and started singing the welcome song and laughing together. The next hour was bliss. It never fails. I love how MMM is with you, even when you're not in a class. MAGIC!

I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed the party at Family Grounds. The location was a great choice since it gave the kids so much to do before singing and dancing. Having 4 teachers there was awesome because it felt a little like a concert - it was nice to hear you all harmonize, and it just gave the room a great energy. I also think you had the perfect amount of people there - not so crowded that you couldn't move.

Just wanted to send you a note to let you know that although my son is no longer enrolled in Music Together®, he is (finally) singing the songs! He's been singing more and more, and when we first listened to the Bells CD at home this semester, he kept saying, "Hey, I know this song!" So, he remembered those songs from THREE years ago, when he took the class at age 2. We usually just listen to whatever collection we are on and don't go back so he hasn't heard those songs in a long time. This morning on the way to preschool, he wanted to listen to "Two Little Kitty Cats" over and over again (and corrected me when I messed up the lyrics). I just got a message from his teachers saying that he sang it to his class today while they were eating lunch :) So amazing, considering he never sat still in class!

I just wanted to share my MMM story and tell you all how much I love MMM and the Music Together music!!! When I started out with MMM, my daughter was 6 months old sleeping horribly and was a fussy baby. My sister takes Music Together classes in CO with her kids and recommended it. I signed up immediately! The music was unbelievably soothing to my daughter, I quickly learned how to make music with her, and found so many sweet, accepting, and supportive moms and nannies. Today, almost 1.5 years later, I still love Music Together, the experiences we have had with MMM and the fact that music has had such a huge influence on my daughter's life and mine. In the beginning I missed a few classes because my daughter was fussy or what not. Soon I realized the music was soothing to her and to me and we went to class even if we were having a bad morning! Today, one of my mommy friends was talking about having been to giggle and the wonderful experience she had with Ms. Mary and the music from MMM! I got so excited and told all of the moms, "See I told you the music is incredible and the work these people do at MMM is even more unbelievable!" So to make a really long story short, I think MMM are such a talented group of music teachers and makers. And Music Together is just incredible music. And my hope is that more and more parents realize how influential and inspirational music and Music Together can be in their children's lives! Thank you all for what you do.

Your organization has changed my daughter's life. She mentions music class on a daily basis. And she sings, and dances, and keeps a beat. And she laughs. She truly is a Merry Music Maker! Thank you.

Merry Music Makers teaches using the "Music Together" curriculum. I did it for 3 years with my two girls and personally found it far superior to other programs we had tried for kids in the 5 and under age group (including Bubbles Academy, Musical Magic and even Old Town). It's the perfect combination of fun, movement and some musical theory to boot. Plus the music is great and varied, including music from different countries and cultures, and changes every 10 weeks, with a new CD included. Best of all, even MY singing improved -- THIS is quite an achievement. We still listen to our Music Together CDs regularly.

I must say, this is the first class we've taken together where Piper really gets involved. Miss Tiffany is a gem and if you ask her, I'm sure she'll say that Piper not only truly participates in class, she is often found hugging or dancing with Miss Tiffany. Ms. Tiffany is a very child friendly and quailifed music teacher. We definitely look forward to Tuesday mornings each week.

Konnichiwa! Kate and I are now back in Japan, and missing music class! We wanted to pass on our sincere thanks to your summer music program for including us. It was so much fun! Kate might have been a "slow start" (as I call it) during class, but for the remainder of the day and days to come, she would sing and mimic the events of the class. It was great!! Your program is very similar to what we did in San Diego, which was a great thing. I hope if we are back next summer or anytime in the future, we can drop in for some more classes.

We wanted to send a quick note of thank you for all of the years of fun you have provided to our family. We have just moved out to the 'burbs this weekend, so we will miss having you guys as a part of every week! Kaitlyn has been so enriched by her involvement in your classes and I can't thank you enough. Mary's ability to light up a room and bring such joy to children is a gift. We know that these classes have provided Kaitlyn and Tyler a foundation that will last their lifetime.

After last Thursday's class, I took Lucia, Carly and Paige to lunch at our local dive, the Salt and Pepper Diner. A few minutes after we were seated, who should walk in but Ella Jenkins and a friend, who took a table near us. I told Lucia and Carly about Ella Jenkins, that she was a famous singer of childrens' songs. They decided then that pointing and staring at her was the appropriate response. After our meal, we went over to her table to say hello and to apologize for the disruptive behavior of a certain 4- and 2-yr-old. Of course, Ella could not have been more gracious. At this point I noticed that Lucia was hanging back a bit, but her lips were moving. She decided that what you do when you meet singers is SING to them. Lucia was singing Su La Li to a delighted Ella Jenkins!

I just wanted to share a quick story that illustrates the impact of Music Together/Merry Music Makers on my family. I was getting Jonah dressed yesterday morning and he kept trying to "escape" from me so he could run around naked. As I chased after him I said "Hey - hey" and immediately he began singing "what do you say, let's all click our sticks today!" after which Jordan chimed in from the next room with "Ba dum Bum Bum Ba dum...etc" It was a very sweet and fun moment.

Music Together is the best program I have seen for showing parents how to make any activity musical. Excellent classes are offered at Merry Music Makers.

After a year in the program, of our child being pretty quiet, clingy, and watching and listening, he has really blossomed in the last 3 weeks, listening to songs, learning the words, and singing them spontaneously. He is now willing to play along in class and do the movements we do. And we've not only incorporated one of the lullabies into our bedtime ritual, but we use "bum bum" and "bye bye instruments/toys/crayons, we'll see you again next time" all the time to transition between activities. It's just a real testament to having faith that he really is absorbing what we do and using us as a model. We're delighted that when he sings the alphabet song or "apples and cherries", he has varying lengths and tones; he's well on his way to matching pitch and rhythm. AND as a bonus, Ken has also really learned more how to sing, and matches pitch most of the time. His awareness and sensitivity has really increased, and he's enjoying singing (where he used to dread it). Thanks again for your dedication and commitment to this program.

Thank you for everything you and the Merry Music Makers program have done for Sophie (and for me). She sings around the house, and is constantly making up songs for every situation. “Mommy, I know, I can make up a ‘Traffic Song’” as we sit in traffic on the Stevenson….just one example of many! She audiates, plays music class with her “students” (pretending to be you), and asks everyone to repeat musical sounds/notes after her. We owe it all to you!
